A 16-year-old Bayelsa youngster, Nengimote Maduabibi Loko, at the weekend threatened to drag the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) to court over the alleged seizure of his May 2017 examination result.
Loko, a student of Nembe National Grammar School, is considered brilliant having won various merit awards and emerged the best student of Nembe National Grammar School.
In a petition filed by his Counsel, Okorodas and Co, supported by the Civil Liberties Organisation (CLO), Bayelsa Chapter dated September 6, 2017 and addressed to the Registrar of JAMB, Loko threatened challenge JAMB in the court of Law and sue for damages if the board failed to release his result.
The Boy’s legal counsel claimed that the non-release of Loko’s result has subjected him to moral and psychological trauma.
The petition, which was signed by Ebibenabo Keneth Okorodas, states that Nengimote Loko was registered for the May, 2017 examination with registration number 75188026BD and examination number C10104003 with Centre number C10104.
“The victim, who is our client, is a brilliant student and a winner of an award with presentation of laptop as best student of Nembe National Grammar School. He was honoured by the Nengi James Foundation.
“Sadly, however, the result of our client for the May, 2017 JAMB examination was not released and without just cause. Our client was not found guilty of examination malpractices, neither was there any issue reported against our client yet his result was not released, hence this letter.
“We therefore humble demand for the release of our client’s result within 21 days upon service of the notice or face stiff legal action,” the petition states.
